Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and music producer. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA in a place where she endured many racial taunts that made her feel like an unwanted person. After entering a ninth-grade school audition, where she was praised for her voice, she started to build confidence. She not only gained confidence from the experience however, she also re-evaluate her plans for her career. At the age of 22, she graduated from the New York's Julliard School. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was titled You've got Mail. The most notable achievement of her career was when she played The Lady of The Lake on Spamalot's original Broadway production. She did not only receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by the critics. In the year following, she appeared on the ABC show Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. Alongside being a popular singer, she released a solo as well as an extended version. She is also a campaigner and has been active for LGBT rights.
